Spotted in a small café in Hanoi — bold text wrapped around its edge, the kind that makes you grin before you’ve even taken a bite. We looked everywhere back home. Nothing like it existed, just plenty of plain, forgettable decor. So we decided to make it ourselves.

That missing plate became a bigger question: why can’t the things we eat from and live with every day carry a little wit, a little warmth?
